Business Continuity & Risk Management Center Program

The BCRMC Program is a specialized program that operates through the existing statewide infrastructure of the Florida SBDC Network. The purpose of the Business Continuity and Risk Management Center (BCRM) program is to ensure statewide businesses have proper education in, training on and assistance in business continuity planning and risk management technical assistance to minimize losses and increase survivability when affected by natural and/or man-made disasters.

Employ Florida links all of Florida's workforce services—state and local—to each other. The state partners are Workforce Florida, the state policy and oversight board, and the Agency for Workforce Innovation, the state agency which administers workforce funds. At the local level there are twenty-four regional workforce boards that administer close to 100 "one-stop centers." Together these organizations represent the Employ Florida network of workforce services and resources. The state and local boards are composed of educational, governmental and private business resources to address local workforce needs.

Procurement and Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) Program

Established in 1985 as a special program of the Florida SBDC Network, hosted by the University of West Florida, the PTAC Program is funded through federal and state agencies to provide assistance to Florida firms interested in doing business with the government. Federal matching funds are provided by the Defense Logistics Agency.

Small Business Resource Network (SBRN)

For information and assistance outside the SBDC’s scope, the Small Business Resource Network, a public-private partnership of the Florida SBDC Network and member firms, is a free information clearing-house to connect small businesses with government and non-profit agencies and the fee-for-service professional expertise they need to achieve their business goals. SBRN professionals assist in the areas of accounting, banking and commercial lending, finance, insurance, law, human resources, marketing, management, technology and other business consulting areas. Agency members specialize in a variety of small business assistance programs.

Two Employment Guides: The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission issued two question-and-answer guides that provide technical assistance for employers and veterans on workplace issues affecting veterans (including military retirees) with service-connected disabilities. The first guide explains how protections for veterans with service-connected disabilities differ under the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Uniformed Services Employment and Re-employment Rights Act (USERRA). The second guide answers questions that veterans with service-connected disabilities may have about the protections to which they're entitled.

The U.S. Small Business Administration has announced the SBA’s Patriot Express Pilot Loan Initiative for veterans and members of the military community wanting to establish or expand small businesses. 

Veterans' Business Outreach Center (VBOC) Program
The VBOC Program was established in 1999 as a special program of the Florida SBDC Network and is located at the SBDC at Gulf Coast Community College. The program is funded by the US SBA to serve as a clearinghouse of business and technical assistance for veterans interested in starting or growing a business in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
